Here is a listing of AKC approved English Springer Spaniel colors. The color Roan is in the standard and can be shown. The colors lemon, orange, and red are also listed in the AKC. You CAN register these colors. They just will not let you PLACE in AKC shows. These colors have always been in English Springers, but they were culled by "traditional" breeders.

| Color All the following combinations of colors and markings are equally acceptable:(1) Black or liver with white markings or predominantly white with black or liver markings; (2) Blue or liver roan; (3) Tricolor: black and white or liver and white with tan markings, usually found on eyebrows, cheeks, inside of ears and under the tail.
